There are about 400 things around the house that I never considered dangerous before. Now with a toddler who is almost 2, the every nook and cranny needs a warning sign. Finley's face may be forever scarred because of an encounter with one of these dangerous items. This one just happens to be attached to her hand. Oh dear.
Here's the list of a few dangerous items, which will be added to on an ongoing basis:
Finley's fingernails - the reason for facial scarring. She picks at her cheek while watching Barney and before she falls asleep. A tick of hers which may offer comfort, but which has also ended her modeling career before it started. The knife drawer. Okay, this one may have been dangerous before. But it's harmless to adults who tend to keep it closed when not in use. Finley opens it just because she can, and reaches in to pull out the butcher knives. We have child-proofed the cabinets, but do they make something for drawers? The couch. Finley stands up on it and nearly launches herself over the back on a regular basis. Supervise her better? I have to look down while breast-feeding the other kiddo sometimes. And sometimes I cook and do laundry. The ottomans. Finley turns them over and stands on top of them. They're wobbly. The doggie door. Finley has crawled out twice and ended up standing in the back yard surrounded by dog poop. Somehow she has ended up avoiding the land mines and she just stands there and sucks her thumb. Supervise you say? Kids are squirrely! I'm trying.
